Who I am
What I do today is the result of what I have done throughout my professional life so far. It’s adding up all the experiences I have had and bringing them together as one in my business. It all started at the hotel management school in Semmering in Lower Austria. This is where I was given the basic tools for my professional career: Between 1996 and 2005 I worked as a restaurant manager and sommelier in a very broad range of hotels and restaurants (Hotel Post Pertisau Achensee, Hotel Triest Vienna, Radisson SAS Altstadt Salzburg, Aiola Graz, etc.). During that time, my love for wine grew and in 2005, I decided to concentrate fully on my passion for the first time at Weinhof Auer in Graz. After having completed extensive sommelier training, my wine journey continued at the beverage company Delfabro/Kolarik, where I was involved in the merger and integration of the Delfabro range as sales manager. Next stop: the Esterházy winery, where I took on sales management for the whole of Austria, and interim overall management. But eventually I realized that while the individual aspects of the world of wine are all exciting in their own right, I prefer to bring them all together. And that's how my current company came into being, which is my own brainchild and is therefore named after me: Bernd Demmerer.
